Ojami Cushion Solid Muji

by Takaokaya

This handmade cushion, Ojami, contains a vast amount of cotton inside, put there by skilled craftsmen. This makes it soft to touch, yet also firm, so that it provides good support for the body. Its bounce and curve give comfort on the back on either a chair or sofa. It is also a nice Zafu cushion for use on the floor at home, e.g, yoga practice or meditation. This new style of cushion is made by a futon company, Takaokaya in Kyoto. The shape comes from sewing four rectangle cloths together. The name 'ojami' is the Kyoto dialect saying of a Japanese traditional toy, 'Otedama'.
