Each piece is handmade in Yokkaichi in Mie prefecture. Yokkaichi is famous for its pottery, and has 300 years of history of making earthenware from its high quality soil. They are called Banko Yaki and are characterized by their natural texture and simple design.
It is a simple tea pot made of clay and has a refined black matt color. The wide strainer attached to the bottom makes it easy to use loose tea and clean the insides after use. The grip is shaped to fit right in the hand and stabilize its holding. Each piece is hand-shaped by skilled craftsman. A matching tea cup is also in stock.
